Barcode billing

Barcode Billing Software for Medical Stores

Scan the strip, take payment, print the bill. Orvia Pharmacy picks the batch, adds GST and updates stock in the same step.

How barcode billing works at the counter

At a busy counter, typing medicine names is where queues form. With barcode billing the cashier scans the strip and the bill line appears with the right medicine, MRP and the oldest-expiry batch already selected.

1. Scan

Scan the barcode or search by name. The oldest-expiry batch is picked automatically (FEFO).

2. Pay

Cash, card, UPI on Pro, credit (udhaar) or a split of several modes on one bill.

3. Print

Print on an 80 mm thermal printer or on A4, with your shop name, GSTIN, address and licence.

4. Share

Send the bill on WhatsApp so the customer can view, print or save it as a PDF without logging in.

What you need to run it

A complete counter is a PC or tablet, an 80 mm thermal printer and a barcode scanner. Orvia Pharmacy runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.

  • A PC, tablet or phone with a browser
  • A barcode scanner
  • An 80 mm thermal printer, or any A4 printer
  • A plan that includes barcode billing (Basic and above)

Your own barcodes and labels

Not every medicine arrives with a barcode your scanner can use, and loose items often have none.

  • Scan a medicine once to link its barcode to the product
  • Create your own barcodes for items without one
  • Print barcode labels for your shelves
  • View or remove saved barcodes any time

More than scanning

  • Hold a bill and resume it later while you serve the next customer
  • GST sits inside the MRP, so the total matches the strip
  • Cancel a bill within 7 days; stock and money are reversed
  • Returns refund by cash, UPI or customer credit
